Since its inception in 1989, Ekal Vidyalaya has connected with 102,000+ rural and remote villages in India to provide education and skills training to more than 10 million boys and girls. Its school cirriculum includes language, arithmetic, and science, plus physical education, health education, and creative arts. Ekal also advances gender equality by encouraging many communities to embrace the benefits of educating girls, leading to positive generational impacts.
In 2004, the Foundation funded 1,000 schools for five years each, which allowed them to reach the point of self-sufficiency. Since then, the Foundation has continued to amplify Ekal’s mission and raise awareness of their good works to empower other organizations to follow in their support.
