Sewa International is a Hindu faith-based, humanitarian, non-profit service organization. Founded in 2003, Sewa International is part of a larger movement that started in India in 1989 and is active in twenty countries. Sewa serves humanity irrespective of race, color, religion, gender, or nationality. We specialize in disaster relief and rehabilitation. Our development programs focus on family services; child, tribal and refugee welfare; women empowerment; health; and education. In addition to our work in the US, we have undertaken development projects in Colombia, Guyana, India, Kenya, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The Aggarwal & Gupta Family Foundation’s support helped deliver oxygen equipment to 195,000 children and helped create 32 oxygen plants in villages throughout India. The foundation’s support also helped SEWA with evacuations from Ukraine at the start of the war in 2022. SEWA volunteers in Europe helped evacuate 12,500 students from Ukraine and additional students in Africa. They also helped 3,200 other Ukrainians to cross the Ukrainian border to reach safety.
